The Journey Continues… Summer Tea

The Journey Continues… Summer Tea

I love hosting teas in my backyard, especially in summer when everything is in bloom

Elizabeth and I hosted one summer tea many years ago. At that point, we were still trying to fit in seasonal teas but we missed spring!  At this time, my sister and I were still doing our Friendship Teas and the Victorian Tea Society was doing May teas.  So spring was out!  By this time Elizabeth and I were realizing that having a tea in every season was impossible.  Too many conflicts and too much work!  Our summer tea was low in attendance.  Our menu offerings continued to develop as my daughter stretched her culinary creativity even more. As usual, we found some recipes that we would not do again for being not tasty enough or too difficult to continue making.

I love using pink at a tea and summer was the perfect time!

We were pretty excited because we got to add a salad to this menu.

The dessert assortment allowed us to have fun. The only problem was that the dessert plate turned out to be “too dark” for a summer plate.

Of course no summer garden tea would be complete without unexpected garden guests!
Making the table as beautiful as possible is always a joy.
