Back on the journey…just not the one I thought I would be on.

With my pretty pink hat, teapot and teacup, I’m ready to Zoom!

Zooming into the future

Facetiming or zooming and having afternoon tea are just oxymorons! But what is a tea loving girl supposed to do in these uncertain coronavirus times. So the Zoom Tea was scheduled. The scones had been baked and delivered along with the homemade lemon curd. A friend made some homemade strawberry-kumquat jam for us to enjoy as well. It was time for zooming!

My friend Melinda is showing us that she is ready to go.

Not everyone is as adapt with this technology as others, so we spent a few minutes getting us all onboard (or on screen). After everyone was seen and heard, we started our tea. The scones were scrumptious, lemon curd divine and strawberry-kumquat jam very tasty!

Although a little blurry, this is what Melinda’s screen looked like.

We chatted for about an hour while we ate our scones. We talked about what we were doing and new projects we would be starting. One thing we found is that only one person can talk at once. Of course, this is very hard for people who like a natural conversation.

Karen is ready. Unfortunately, her treasured teacup that she bought at the Thrift Shop had a hair-line fracture and her tea just seeped out.
The scone plate. Not a crumb was left!

Thus the rerouted journey ended. Technology can never replace the time-honored afternoon tea party. However, friendship will remain the same, regardless of how we have to connect.
